Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go back 40 plus years to when there were no computers, or mobile phones? Where we had to wait til the end of the day to call our friends from a landline? I have. Don't get me wrong I love technology, 90 percent of my job is online. Social media? Well here I am posting a little snapshot of me and my journey of thoughts.
But on the flip side I long for a space where digital doesn't exist. Where conversation is gauged by tone of voice and physical expression and not the tone of an email or text. Where gatherings are held around bonfires, and schedules are thrown out with computers.
Recent challenges have caused me to pause and reflect on some of my decisions. To consider where I am headed and if I actually like the direction I am going, or at the current speed. For so long I have adopted the pace of my surroundings, and expectations of society, that I have again forgotten what rhythm and creative space I was designed for.
This is why I decided to shift a gear this year. To down the 'tools' more regularly and pick up my creative. To get back on the land where its long roads and dusty red dirt. Where barefoot is a must, and bird song a plenty. My happy place. The perfect environment to regroup and resurrect a tired soul.
