Strong Stock

I came across this little gem today while spring cleaning - my grandmother’s cookbook - given to my Mum and passed down to me. I believe knowing from where we come and who we belong is important when building upon a legacy of strong, positive traditions. One of the fondest memories I have when visiting my grandma was the smell of freshly baked shortbread stored in her Bensons Toffee tin.

Our family comes from strong stock (pardon the pun) and I just love that this little cookbook, with all its scribbles in the margins and pasted recipes throughout, represents a lifetime of dedication to family and love shared around the dinner table. And although I didn’t inherit my grandmother’s incredible culinary skills, I pray that I too leave a legacy of love, of a different kind!
